Mentalist in London for a bank

Mentalist in London for a bank

Mentalist in London for a bank

Corporate party this Tuesday, special evening, for a bank. The President gave a summary of the past year as well as the outlook for 2019. The bank will continue to open new branches in London. To stick better to the theme of the evening, I did not fail to make several magic tricks on the theme of money. So, I asked a guest to name me randomly the name of a currency. He named me the yen. The banknote that I had since departure in the hands has thus transformed into the Japanese currency.

Mentalism :  I Know You So Well

This one would be great for one on one or small group situations. Say you are at a restaurant with a group of friends and we haven’t ordered yet. A great way to get a pad into play would be to use branching anagram routine to divine someone’s astrological sign. There are lot’s of method’s out there. I use Doug Dyment’s Sign Language. During this routine I bring out my im- pression pad to take notes. I don’t ask them to write anything down so the heat is off the pad. I simply use it to keep up with the letters I have “seen” and once I have announced what their sign is it seems perfectly natural to tear off the page, hand the pad to them and say “Let’s try something else.” Here’s how this routine goes.

“Let’s try another experiment. I am going to the “little mentalists” room for a minute. While I’m gone each of you write down what you would like to drink. When you are done, tear off the page and someone stick it in your pocket or purse.. We’ll do something fun when I get back”

If it’s a small group sitting in a row, I would hand the pad to someone on either end of the row assuming they will simply pass it down the row. In a larger group it might be a good idea to jot down each person’s name and leave a space for them to write. While you are gone simply make a note of each persons’ drink of preference, stop by the bar, order the drinks and show up with everyone’s choice. As you present each person’s drink do a bit of coldreading or talk a little about what you know about their personality to indicate why you think they might like what you are offering. This of course works best in a larger restaurant where the bar is not in eyeshot of the table you are sitting at.

Another alternative I would like to try is a bit more complicated but would work in a similar way. It would probably work better one on one. When your server comes over for the first time make sure you take note of their name. When you excuse yourself instead of asking for drink pref- erences ask your guest to write what they would like to eat. Instruct them that if the waitstaff comes by to take your order, please ask them come back later as you haven’t decided what you want. Once you have the info, call the restaurant, ask for your waitress or waiter. Explain that you are pulling a prank, go ahead and place an order but ask the waitress or waiter to come over and pretend to take an order, and whatever you say just play along. When you get back to the table and the waiter or waitress comes by to take your order, announce that you are going to try something you have never tried before.

“Are you feeling a little adventurous? I believe everyone has some psychic abilities but most of us don’t know how to access them. I’ve worked for a long time to hone my skills. Let’s see if I can help you two (speaking to the waitperson and my guest) bring out some of yours. Depend- ing on the situation, I might take both their hands explaining I am going to be a conduit for their thoughts to pass through. My psychic powers will serve as an amplifier to take what might nor- mally not get through and make the signal stronger and clearer. (Looking at my guest). “I’d like you to imagine what you would like to eat as vividly as you can. See it in your mind’s eye. Imag- ine it is on the table right in front of you. See what it would look like, smell how good it would smell . Imagine taking a taste. Mmm, imagine how good it will be. Activate as many different parts of your brain as you possibly can and make the experience as real as you can. Can you see it, smell it, taste it, good”

Looking at the waitperson, give them a little wink and say “Now you. I want you to take a big breath, relax, clear you mind of all your worries and stress. That’s good, take another deep breath. Now don’t intellectualize this, go only on instinct, write down the first thing that comes to mind. Don’t tell us what it is just put the order in. Don’t worry, I’ll pay for whatever it is and order something else if it isn’t what my friend would like.” I would then simply order whatever I wanted and wait for the gasps of wonder when the exact thing my friend wished for is brought out.

Mentalist in London for Nespresso

Mentalist in London, a member of the Magic Circle, I was hired by a famous coffee brand, Nespresso, as part of an evening in the city center of the capital city of London. On the program: close magic, and experience of mentalism.

Mentalisme : Liar’s Twenty Questions

Mentalist in London for Nespresso

Mentalist in London for Nespresso

I’d like to try an experiment. Things like this don’t always work, but they are interesting even when they fail. I need a volunteer. Great. Do you consider yourself a good liar? Well, we’ll see. Did you ever see the program ‘Lie to Me”? (Doesn’t matter if they have or not) Did you know
it was based on the real life research of Dr. Paul Ekman? Dr. Ekman studies micro expressions. When someone is trying to deceive or conceal their emotions, a very brief, 1/15 to 1/25 of a second, facial expression occurs which is virtually undetected by anyone who is not trained to notice it. That micro expression briefly shows what they are so desperately trying to hide, their true emotion. I’ve been studying this stuff and I’d like to try it with you.

Do you remember playing “Twenty Questions” when you were a kid. Let’s play now, but with a twist. Every time I ask you a question I want you to answer no. My job will be to figure out when no is the correct answer and when no is a lie. I’m going to turn around (or leave the room) I want you to think of an object. Write it down on this piece of paper. When you are done show everyone else. Fold up the paper and put it in your pocket. When you are done, let me know and we can see how good I am at this, OK?”

If you want to propose an original and striking experience to your customers, offer them the présence of a mentalist magician in London. iPad Magic, mentalism or close-up magic : my varied repertoire allows me to answer all your requests : corporate parties, weddings etc.

Mentalist in London for a celebrate department store

Mentalist in London for a celebrate department store

A celebrate department store recruited me this Saturday to distract their employees.

I offered them in this context a series of magic tricks and mentalism.

Mentalism : The Perfect number

The mentalist hands out 4 papers to 4 different spectators.
“Please take one of these billets, and hand the rest to the person on your right…” “First, I will write a prediction on this page…”

“I want to make something related to numbers, have you ever seen weird coincidences occurring in your life? Some think that 7 is a lucky number, while others never want to go to a 13th floor because they think that it gives bad luck, I even read once about the enigma of number 23.”

“But I don’t want to influence your choices… I want each one of you to select a number that does mean something to you… for example I would choose 22 because on the 22nd day of December is My Birthday, or I could choose 50 because that’s the number of girlfriends I’ve had in my life… I’m just kidding, just think of a significant number from 1 to 100 and write it down in your papers please”.

“Great, now you… collect all the papers and give them to the lady over there… are you an engineer? Do you know how to sum numbers? I’m just kidding, please take the slips and write down in each line each of the numbers that they have just written I won’t look” (He turns around).

“When you finish writing the 4 numbers, please add them and write the result on a new line”. “Perfect… I have a prediction inside this envelope…”

The Gift in the lockbox

A table is set up on stage and five spectators will be asked to join the Mentalist. He will set the Labco pad on the table and proceed to tell the five spectators an anecdote (I don’t intend to provide any dialogue here as the story he tells is irrelevant and is used only to plant the idea in the minds of the collective audience that some sort of verbal persuasion is being used, but I will say that an amusing story works well).

After hearing the story, the spectators are asked to write down a word on the pad, starting at one end of the group and moving to the other. Each is asked to write one word, tear out the page, and pass the pad along.

While they are doing this, the Mentalist selects another audience member and asks her to join him on the stage. She is ushered to the table, upon which the Mentalist empties a bag of coins (I use a blend of pennies, nickels, and dimes). The group of five is asked to step back while she selects a coin. She is encouraged to look at numerous coins, and mentally select one. She is asked to look at the date on the coin and memorize it. She is asked if she would like to change her mind and choose another. When she has settled on a coin, she is passed the Labco pad and asked to both write down the date on the coin she chose and to write down a memory associ- ated with that date. For instance, a coin with the date of 1990 could be associated with her first kiss, etc. She writes this down.

The Mentalist then calls attention to a lockbox that has been on display the whole time. It is locked up and as he opens it, he tells the audience that he has something special for this young lady. But before he shows her what is inside, he asks the other five spectators on stage to join the lady at the table and examine the coins. They are all asked to choose a coin themselves and, once they have done so, to call out the date that they chose. They are then asked to choose again, and call out the dates. The five are then dismissed back to the audience and their seats. The Mentalist comments that the Five demonstrated that each date on each coin was unique, that there are no duplicate coins, and that the date on the coin chosen by the young lady on stage is known only to her.

From the lockbox, he produces a gift, wrapped with wrapping paper, with a bow on top, and with a card attached. He hands it to the girl, and inquires after her name. Inspection of the card shows that it is addressed to her. The Mentalist asks the girl to hold the present and think of the memory associated with the date on her chosen coin. He then correctly reveals the memory.

The spectator is then asked to open her present. She is left holding a box. Contained within it is another box. When this box is opened, she finds a small bag secured at the top with a rubber band. She then opens the bag and dumps out a coin. The coin is shown to be a perfect match
to the one that she mentally chose. She is then asked to hold up the paper on which she wrote down her choices and a photograph is taken of her and the Mentalist with her holding up the paper. This is emailed to her after the show as a souvenir and serves as a fantastic subterfuge as to why she wrote on the pad.

While the spectator heads back to her seat, the Mentalist calls attention to an envelope that has been hanging above the stage since the beginning of the show, with a spotlight shining on it the whole time. The Mentalist points out that it has remained in full view the entire time, and that it could not possibly have been tampered with. He asks for a show of hands from those who have wondered as to its purpose, and then says that the time has come to satisfy everybody’s curiosity.

He then asks each of the Five to stand up. The Mentalist fetches a chair and stands on it to reach up and fetch the envelope, which he then hands to an audience member. He asks the audience member to randomly select two other participants to serve as witnesses to what is about to happen (this builds a bigger group with more varied responses which helps to add to the drama and prevents the idea of stoogery).

The Mentalist then asks a volunteer to come and stand by a whiteboard. He then asks the group with the envelope to carefully tear it open and slide the card it contains upwards just to the point where it reveals some writing. They are asked to read the writing aloud.

They read the following:

“In preparation for this event, I have jotted down five words which I believe I can manipulate five spectators into choosing later today.”

The Mentalist then asks the first of the five to open up his paper and show it to the audience while also calling it aloud.

The chosen word is written on the whiteboard in large print by the volunteer from the audience.

The Mentalist asks the spectators with the envelope to slide the card further upward just enough to reveal the first word. It is shown to be a match.

The process is repeated successfully for all the remaining words save the second, where the word is shown to be a synonym or antonym of the spectator’s word (I find that this lends cred- ibility to the effect and prevents any suspicion that the method is not due to mental manipula- tion of the Five). Because this miss happens early on and is very close to the word chosen, it is accepted as a hit of sorts, and by the time the fifth and final revelation is shown to be correct, the slight error is all but forgotten, but the sense of authenticity is not.

The Mentalist directs applause to each one of the five, the committee, and his helper on stage, and then takes a bow himself.

Don’t hesitate to contact me for your events : corporate parties, weddings etc. As a member of the Magic Circle, I will be happy to answer to all your questions : contact@magician-mentalist-london.co.uk

Magician mentalist London for a luxury brand of perfume

A luxury brand of perfume presented its new creation, fine and pleasant flagrances. to the best customers of the brand.  The company decided to innovate and propose a magic animation. Mentalist magician in London, I decided to offer a mix of digital magic (iPad magic), sleight of hands and mentalism.

Experience of mentalism : the brain

I  first asks to the audience if they have ever forgotten about an object, leaving it at an unknown place.

Of course everyone agrees to this.

I continued, saying that the brain is like a very spectacular machine, which has two main “sectors”. The left sector is destined to analyze and criticize, yet the right sector is the one that constantly dreams and gives all the emotions to life.

As the greatest machine invented of all times, the brain has also a hidden truth or a dark secret which is its subconscious mind… it can remember things we don’t even know we remember, and it can also find objects even without consciously knowing where they are… that’s why you almost always find objects you have lost, only by following your INSTINCT…

Tonight, I will try to make something very special with you. Please, the sir in the front row, take this crumpled paper ball”.

From now on, I stayed BLINDFOLDED for a while… “I don’t want to look anything from now on until almost the end of this experiment, I will act based on my subconscious instinct…

Please, Sir, take the crumpled paper and throw it to anyone in the audience, please don’t aim to the face, we don’t want to call the paramedics…

Just throw it to the air it will fall to someone, if it doesn’t fall to someone just give it to a person you would like to come up stage, when you’re done just say ‘OK I’m Done’”.

A new spectator is selected. I invited him / her to come up to the stage with a round of applause.
(…)

So, your name is Sophie”.

Nice, I want you to take a personal object off of you, it can be a Ring, Wallet or your Cell phone, I would prefer a small but visible object”.

Please show it to everyone… this object is going to be hidden somewhere in this theater / room, YOU are going to pick a spectator from the public, someone you don’t know please”.

Walk now towards that person and hand the object to him / her, when you have done that just say OK”.

– Ok.

Perfect Sophie… now the new spectator that has been selected… please don’t say anything, just take the object, put it in your pocket for safe keeping and sit down NOW, please Maria touch my left shoulder whenever he has sat down”.

As soon as she touches his arm:
“I will uncover my eyes know… I need to look at your eyes in order to get a better reading…”

OK.. Just concentrate on your object… start to visualize it on your mind… I see a rectangular shape… it kind of slides towards the sides… is it a Sony Cell Phone?” – Yes!!! (Applauses).

Perfect, now concentrate on the face of the person you have just given your cell phone… think on his hair color… is it gray hair?” – Yes… “Great, I think it’s a man and not a woman… I see he’s dressed in a black t-shirt… brown eyes and he’s a tall guy…“ (Applauses).

Just keep concentrating, everyone of you also concentrate don’t say anything and don’t look at anyone in particular… I will start to walk over the stage with her, please give me your hand and just try to mentally give me directions... (After some seconds of concentration and walking over the stage… I stopped…)

Don’t say anything… your name is Patrick right?” – Yes (Applauses).

Patrick, I think you were chosen by Maria to hide her cell phone… please hand it out to me…” (Applauses).

I taked the cell phone and shows it to everyone with the background of a thunder- ousapplause, and hands it to Maria…

Thanks a lot to all of you… that is the reason why you should sometimes consider following your intuition and not always rely on your rational mind to take a decision… believe in yourselves and follow your instincts”.

Magician mentalist in London for a wedding at Skylon restaurant

Magician mentalist in London for a wedding at Skylon restaurant

Magic for a wedding this Saturday in London.  Laurie and Franck have joined forces at Skylon Restaurant. Mentalist in London, member of the Magic Circle, I was asked by this young couple to animate their evening.  I made sure to maintain a good balance between turns using dexterity and diversion of attention, and then mentalism.

Telepathy experiment with a phone

Mentalism uses various techniques such as neurolinguistic programming, influence or precognition. It allows to offer to the audience a different approach and assistance to live new experiences. I thus proposed to the guests to realize a telepathy experiment. To do this I used a phone.

It was an opportunity to check if information could be transmitted distance without visual contact. Every human being has already experienced telepathy, for example by guessing a state of mind or a nervousness of his children, while they were doing everything to let nothing appear.  Hear mentalist in London so I made a demonstration on this theme.

I managed to perceive what the viewer felt without him saying a word. The latter has drawn a geometric shape on a piece of paper lost among three papers. While the spectator put his hands on the papers, without any indication, I managed to feel if the drawing was under or not. As a final, I identified precisely on the paper was the geometric shape and I even began to describe as if I saw it with my own eyes.

Subsequently I proposed another experience of mentalism. I delivered a sealed envelope that contained a bank note. I asked the audience to randomly choose numbers.

A spectator dialed this series of numbers and my phone rang. Highlight of the show: the envelope contained a bank note with a serial number that corresponded to the series of numbers stated rather by random spectators.  Illusionist for over 20 years I work for many brands like Rolex, Ferrari, Porsche, Chanel.

You can ask me for various events such as product launches, weddings, corporate parties, whatever your type of event. It is very easy to contact me either by phone at +44 7413 350479 or by email contact@magician-mentalist-london.co.uk

Magician mentalist in London for a wedding

Magic this Saturday in London for a wedding. I alternated experiences of mentalism and close-up magic.  Nathalie and Kevin had gathered their guests in central London to celebrate their union.

Experience of mentalism with a piano

A member of the Magic Circle, I spoke on the phone with them to better prepare this service and offer personalized magic tricks around the passion and interests. I booked a surprise Nathalie, who is a professional pianist.  On the stage was installed a grand piano. On the piano stool sits the pianist telepath, my partner, able to play excerpts from a number of pieces of music. I went down to the public with a big slate, and I asked various spectators to whisper in the ear the name of a composer, preferably someone known.

No sooner had they pronounced the name of the composer than the pianist began to play a piece composed by this musician. Meanwhile, I quickly wrote the name of the composer on my slate.

After a few bars, the pianist stopped and showed the slate to all the audience. Most of the audience recognized the piece playing the piano and identified the composer. Seeing the name on the slate, they wondered how the pianist could find the name of Mozart. The same experience was repeated with a dozen composers.  Then I borrowed a deck of cards that I had mixed. When I picked it up, I spread it out in a long ribbon way on the table, making sure that the indexes all cases were clearly visible in the sprawl. I explained with a little practice, it is possible to learn by heart on all the cards of the game, so as to know the position of each of the 52 cards that compose it.

I said that when I was in shape, it took me less than 15 seconds to memorize the game by heart, so as to know the position of each of the 52 cards that compose it. Joining the gesture to the word, I then passed my index to the edge of the sprawl and progressively. That done, I collected the cards, returned, and asked a spectator to name a number between one and two.

When I heard numbers, I thought a little and then announced the identity of the card occupied at this position in the game.  It was the 34th. I love to say that it was the lady at heart who was in that position.

We checked by counting up to the 34th card from the top I returned the card as it was actually the lady of the heart. Other viewers may name other numbers.

Strong reactions

As a mentalist magician in London I arrived at the aperitif and surprised the audience by having a wallet on fire. What generate strong reactions ! A good introduction to a party under the sign of friendliness.

It’s no coincidence that Mark recruited me because Alison is a real passionate about magic. I did not miss to bring a touch of romance to the set by showing roses especially for the queen of the evening.

During the cocktail, I made card manipulations, but also tours with bottles of wine and borrowed objects.

Close-up magic is a great way to break the ice and generate laughter and strong reactions.

Then during the second part of the evening, the guests came to the table. In this context a little more intimate, I did not fail to perform experiments of mentalism. At the same time, I have noticed the interest of the general public in this discipline, a performing art consists in making believe that I am able to read the thoughts of the spectators. Readings of thoughts, predictions, mental arithmetic … so many experiences that upset the certainties of the guests!

In addition to birthdays I also offer my services for corporate parties, product launches or simply weddings. Feel free to email me at contact@magician-mentalist-london.co.uk for more and more informations !
